Tunisian born,

She is a woman

who loves by expanding,

stretching,

singing like the sea

under a luminous moon,

the tides of her

defying the gravity

of earth,

her words dreamy,

slightly slanted,

she dreams of spirals

across time,

she defies definition

Like Frida,

She wears flowers

in her hair,

She craves connection

to others

and plants bulbs

in the dark, cold, Fall soil,

So Spring will bring

blooms of first violet

crocus with their saffron yellow stamens,

and then pink peony,

she cooks meals

with friends,

Weaving love into

tapestries of faith

that we are all connected

by fierce love,

We carry each other

like water

to the river,

We rise

Like sunrise on the vast horizon

of the unknown day,

and sing jazz

to Loulou, the blind rescue dog,

and Oscar,

the fluff of white fur at her heart,

Paws to the sky,

We travel together,

Carrying one another

across the expanse

of terra incognito

singing grace

All the way.
