A day in November,

Midwestern Fall sky,

Deciduous trees shed their Summer foliage,

drums rise from the wooded sanctuary,

I find you there-

A silent calm amidst a storm of loss,

Your gentle smile hides from everyone but me,

Bright, brilliant eyes like constellations that guide sailors home,

Welcome me,

The bonfire burns, looms, casts shadows, warms chilly hands,

night rhythms bring us together,

I start to dance,

Feet leading me towards you,

Two steps forward,

One step back,

What is this passion igniting amidst the embers of fire,

Your gaze glows light and elusive as the smoke spirals towards the treetops,

What is this place of fire and smoke,

Troubles fade,

All is well,

Brokenness becomes whole within me,

This wholly holy moment of healing,

I ask to hold your hand,

Cold fingers welcome me home,

I only wish we had met sooner so I could love you longer,

Love is eternal, though,

Dance with me across this celestial plane,

You are home.
